Men's Monday Message: A Righteous Man?

Good morning mighty men of valor...

"How deep is your faith?"

This is the question that I felt I was being asked as I meditated on the middle part of James 5, verse 16 specifically (AMP).

"The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]."

Think about that.... having "tremendous power available"...

IF I am a "righteous" man.

Am I?.... Are you?

I would offer this.... in myself, my own effort, there is nothing that could be called "righteous" as the Word defines.

My self-righteousness is like "filthy rags" (Isa 64:6)... yours too.

But this does not disqualify us as our Heavenly Father has made a way...

He covers us with the righteousness of Christ.

Think about it.

Didn't Christ replace our human spirit with His spirit...

Consider 2 Cor 1:21... "But it is God Who confirms and makes us steadfast and establishes us [in joint fellowship] with you in Christ, and has consecrated and anointed us [enduing us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit];"

If we are, in fact, saved with the gift of salvation and eternal life, how could we enter into this everlasting kingdom with God if still unrighteous?

Seems the question is being transformed into the fullness of believing this

To be "mature" as God instructs.... not to get "good", for we are good, but to become better than good.... what I call Christ Complete.

In other words, to learn how to live IN the righteousness of Christ.

It is not our self-righteousness, but His righteousness that avails much.

Next time the enemy of souls says you're not a righteous man tell him to take a walk. Then, humble yourself before our Lord for He is good and bask in His righteousness. Recognize His tremendous power. Heal the sick, bless the suffering, deliver the oppressed, pray knowing you are heard and receive ALL of His benefits.

Think about it!
