Men's Monday Message: Contentment

Good Morning Men of God,

The Apostle Paul said whether he was on top of the world or being crushed under it he was content in God.

So many of us feel that contentment and complacency are the same thing.

This is not so based on what I see as we consider the whole counsel of the Word.

We are called to excellence (2 Pet 1:3 AMP)... to the "high call" of God as Paul states that he is "reaching", trying, "stretching forward", "pressing toward" (Phil 3:13-14).

Complacent? I do not think so.

So, how can I strive and yet be content?

We all know Matt 6:33 where Jesus tells us to seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and everything we need will be provided.

I believe this is a big clue.

Also in Phil 4:11-13 (AMP) Paul states that no matter his condition he has learned not to be disturbed or disquieted. He goes on to say the "secret of facing every situation" is that his sufficiency is found in the sufficiency of Christ.

So, if God is for me.... if He will never leave me nor forsake me.... if I am truly a joint heir with Christ.... then YES, I can say I am "content" for what else do I need?

My excellent ambition in all of life is to be found in Him.

Think about it.

Strength and Honor, but Only for His Glory,
