Men's Monday Message: Who's in Control Here?

Good morning mighty men of valor,

How is your "control" meter?

I like being in control... how 'bout you?

I like having plans and making plans and when "my" plans are disrupted, well I find that upsetting.

Anyone relate?

I do not think making and having plans are a bad thing as they bring order to my day... they set goals and objectives for me to achieve... they allow me to set direction.

But James 4:14 reminds us that we cannot predict the future... "you do not even know what will happen tomorrow."...  Never mind weeks, months or years from now.

Jesus urges us not to worry about tomorrow as we have enough to deal with today. (Mat 6:34 my paraphrase).

Truth is, depending on our own plans is like the blind leading the blind.

So, what do we do?

Comes back to knowing and trusting God.

Ps 37:3-5 (NKJV) - Trust in the Lord, and do good;

Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

Delight yourself also in the Lord,

And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord,

Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

Prv 3-6 - (NKJV) Trust in the Lord with all your heart,

And lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He shall direct your paths.

It is not about control... it's about trust.

It's not about tomorrow... it's about eternity

Think about it!.... and give me the remote.
